Norman Osborn, the CEO of Oscorp and the future Green Goblin is completely wasted and barely has any screen-time when he dies, since it has him as a dying old man than him becoming the Green Goblin as they're trying to make the Green Goblin as more of a disease than a drug/serum.False advertising: Rhino is seen on some posters, but he is barely in it and doesn't even wear his metal armor until the final scene. His design is just a Rhino-like metallic mech-armor with missiles that rips off Iron Monger's design from 2008's Iron Man or straight up from the rejected designs for the Transformers movies. Rhino is an unnecessary and annoying setup for future installments. He's introduced for the first time in the franchise and immediately turns into the Green Goblin so you can tell his story arc was rushed. When it's revealed that he was best friends with Peter, whom he never mentions him at all in the previous film.

His Green Goblin design looks nothing like the comics, instead he looks like a drugged-up Beavis from Beavis and Butt-Head with cybernetic Oscorp armor than the average green-skinned goblin. Harry Osborn is underused as a villain in the climax. In the comics, Electro got his powers from trying to save a electrician on a high tension pole thats when the lightning stuck him, in the film, he got his powers from falling from electric eels that infected him. Also, he looks nothing like his comic book counterpart and was supposed to be like his Ultimate Marvel counterpart.Race Changes: Max Dillon/Electro, depicted as white in the comics, is turned into an African-American, played by Jamie Foxx.He also doesn't have a good motivation to fight Spider-Man (Spider-Man didn't remember his name? For Real?) and only has 2 fight scenes with him before he dies. Electro is basically a clone of the Riddler from Batman Forever. However, the universe that Sony was trying to build with The Amazing Spider-Man was eventually usurped into the MCU with the Webbverse Spider-Man being featured in the aforementioned No Way Home during the climax. This is even another common mistake that many executives coming from studios like Warner Bros, Universal and Fox did with their movies in order to make their own cinematic universe similar to Marvel. This is a common mistake done by Sony (who only existed to keep the rights) that were planning to make their own cinematic universes separate from the Marvel Cinematic Universe by trying to rush it instead of telling a story that's worth telling before you can tell something bigger.
